Agora International School Andorra’s Summer School courses are open to all children aged between 3 to 17 and provide an opportunity for your child to spend an unforgettable and truly international summer in beautiful natural surroundings. Your son or daughter will make lots of new friends, enjoy a wide range of exciting activities and grow in confidence and skill in a fun, friendly and stimulating learning environment.
The practical and experience-based nature of the summer school curriculum is carefully designed to stimulate your child’s curiosity for learning in all the activities in which they participate. From day one, our students are fully immersed in learning their chosen language; all our courses are taught by native-speaking professionals and are designed by our excellent teaching team to ensure maximum learning and maximum fun!
The school is located in L’Aldosa in Andorra’s La Massana region in beautiful mountainous terrain. The site is approximately 1250 metres above sea level and about 10 minutes away from the Vallnord ski area.
During the mornings our students immerse themselves in their language of choice (English Spanish or French), participating in a range of carefully designed educational activities and workshops. In the afternoons, children can choose one of the two activity programmes on offer, which are delivered in Catalan or Castilian Spanish: Multi-adventure, which includes canyoning, climbing, swimming in the school’s heated indoor pool and a wide variety of sports at the school’s purpose-built sports facilities, (football, tennis, basketball, volleyball, etc.), or Circus Arts, which provides a circus-based artistic experience and an opportunity to learn and practise skills such as juggling, acrobatics, theatrical and dance techniques, and much more… helping your child to develop confidence, self-expression and creativity.
Our school is an authorised examining centre for the Cambridge Board English exams, and we are therefore able to offer our summer school students the opportunity to complete an intensive preparation programme for these examinations. Students are grouped according to their level of English and are taught by highly experienced, native-speaking teachers. The courses are four weeks in duration and our students are carefully prepared for each segment of the exam and given extensive help and advice about exam technique, to ensure they are confident and well-prepared for the final exams. From Monday to Friday in the afternoons the Cambridge examination students can join in with the Multi-adventure or Circus Arts activities that form part of the Super Summer programme.
For our youngest students we offer weekly-themed workshops to encourage them to develop their imaginative and creative skills, enjoy a range of physical and psychomotor activities, and transform themselves into American Indians, archaeologists, elves and pirates, exploring different worlds of imagination and adventure! The Little Summer programme allows your child to continue to develop skills learned during the school year, to participate in new activities, and to reinforce and practise their language skills. Courses are delivered in English, Spanish and French and include activities such as swimming, excursions, pony riding, handicrafts, singing, games, and much, much more.
These courses are offered to any students who require additional academic support in a minimum of three subjects and are taught by teachers drawn from the main school’s staff. Personalised programmes are designed for each student to help optimise their academic performance. Students are assessed at regular intervals and the tutors prepare weekly progress reports to ensure that parents are kept fully up to date with their child’s progress. Students who choose this course of study in the mornings are also offered the opportunity to participate in the Super Summer activities (either Multi-adventure or Circus Arts) in the afternoons.
