From 1 to 26 July 2019
You can sign up for single or multiple weeks for most programmes, apart from the Cambridge Examinations programme.
1 week = 7 days/6 nights (from Sunday to Saturday)
Residential students carry out various extra-curricular and weekend activities, including:
During the evenings our boarders participate in games organised by the tutors, fancy-dress parties, themed dinners, barbeques, sports camps and range of other activities.
Our boarding facility has the capacity to accommodate 50 students in the same building, with girls and boys being accommodated on separate floors in double or triple rooms, supervised by their housemasters or mistresses. The students’ rooms include linen, a daily cleaning service, change of sheets and a weekly laundry service. All students are assigned a residential tutor, who is responsible for monitoring behaviour, comfort, extra-curricular activities and weekend trips, and for maintaining regular contact with parents.
Food is prepared daily at the school in kitchens accordance with menus designed by a nutritional expert. Parents of students with any particular food allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements must inform the school in writing. Students eat breakfast and have their afternoon snack at the boarding house, but all other meals (morning snack, lunch and dinner) are eaten in the school dining room. Mealtimes are supervised by designated members of staff and when the children are off-site on trips, a picnic is provided.
All students who are resident in Andorra who are not enrolled at the school, must present a copy of their School insurance documentation with their registration documents.
During the mornings our students immerse themselves in their language of choice (English Spanish or French), participating in workshops and a range of activities taught by native speaking professionals drawn from the main school’s teaching team. In the afternoons the children can choose one of the two activity programmes on offer, in English or Spanish:
Including canyoning, climbing, activities available at Pal, Naturlandia, Caldea or Extrem 360º, and on-site activities, including swimming in the school’s heated indoor swimming pool and a wide variety of sports facilities: football, tennis, basketball, volleyball, etc.
A circus-based artistic experience and an opportunity to learn and practise some of the world’s oldest arts. Students following this path will learn juggling, acrobatics, rhythmic gymnastics, theatrical techniques, clowning, dance, synchronised swimming… This programme is delivered by expert circus performers from Arabesque Choreographies.
As an officially authorised Cambridge Examinations centre, we can offer our summer school students the opportunity to complete an intensive preparation programme for the Cambridge English examinations. Students are grouped according to their level of English and are taught by highly experienced native teachers using tried and tested teaching techniques. The course focuses on developing skills in reading comprehension, written expression, listening comprehension, grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary.
Students are carefully prepared for the official Cambridge examinations and are given extensive help and advice about exam technique ensuring they are well-prepared and confident to take the final exam.
From Monday to Friday, students can combine the exam preparation sessions with one of the afternoon activities offered as part of the Super Summer programme. Students can choose to participate in either the MULTI-ADVENTURE or the CIRKUS ART courses, except Thursday afternoons when the exam preparation students are involved in directed study sessions. Students wishing to take the exam preparation courses are required to sign up for the full four-week course.
These courses are offered to any students who need additional assistance. The teaching teams are very experienced and are drawn from the staff who teach at the main school all-year round. Personalised programmes are designed for each student to help them prepare for the subjects for which they need additional support, to complete summer homework or to reinforce the topics covered during the school year, adjusting the work to the student’s academic needs and helping them to optimise their performance.
The students who opt for this course of study in the mornings, will also be offered the opportunity to participate in either the MULTI-ADVENTURE or CIRKUS ARTS programmes in the afternoons, except for on Thursday afternoons when they will participate in a directed study session. It is also possible to participate only in the revision courses from 09:00 to 13:30 hours.
Regular evaluations and a weekly report will be prepared by the tutors for each student so that parents can monitor their child’s progress.
